Biodiversity Park, Ranchi is developed with an aim to conserve rare and imperative plants, trees and medicinal herbs. India used to be one of the main places of herb, shrubs and tree plantation. The main objective is to preserve these rare medicinal herbs and plants as conservators of our natural resources and their protection for next generation. The park is developed in the huge area of 542 acres of land with proper distribution of parks, gardens, medicine conservation, animal preservation area and other such.

Attractions of Biodiversity Park in Ranchi

Medicinal Garden

This garden is abode to nearly 100 species of medicinal herbs that are rare to find in world. These herbs are planted with the help of research team to conserve and preserve them with extensive observation.

Indigenous Specious Zone

Indigenous Specious Zone is dedicatedly established to house nearly 115 exotic species of plants which holds significant importance in botanical field. Here separate 4 hectare land is given to sprawl 64 species of plants.

Bambusetum

India produces large varieties of Bamboos which are recognized worldwide. In the area of four hectare, more than 24 species of Bamboo plants are cultivated in Biodiversity Park in Ranchi.

Grass Zone

Grasses are also found in quite large variety in India. Here in Grass zone, they preserve 33 species of grass roots in the area of half hectare land.

Aquatic Garden

Plants are not only grown on soil but they find their existence in water as well. In Aquatic Garden, they preserve 15 species of aqua plants. Here they have large collection of lotus and lily plants in this premise.

Palm Garden

Palm trees keep a distinguished status in the natural beauty of place. In Biodiversity Park, they preserve 45 types of cycad and palm trees that adore every beach worldwide.

Rose Garden

Rose is the most attractive flower for people, especially women. In India, rose plants are found in large varieties. Therefore to preserve all types of roses, they have dedicated one acre area for rose plantation. This place draws lots of visitors.

Grass Lawn and Shrubbery

This place is located near the entrance plaza, intentionally, to offer pleasant view for visitors. Lush green lawn is created along with shrubbery to makes it outstanding place for travelers.

Water Harvesting and Conservation

The Land of Biodiversity Park has been intersected by many small streams and rivulets that satisfy the need of water in this park. The management has put on many small dams, reservoirs and other techniques to hold water for supply in park.

Biodiversity Park is situated on the main highway of NH 75. It is placed off road from Tupudana Chowk. It is nearly 11 km from Birsa Munda Airport and 15 km from Ranchi Railway station. Auto rickshaws are easily available within the city to arrive at Biodiversity Park.
