is the oldest Indian woman to have scaled Mount Everest at the age of
48 years. She was awarded Padma Shri by Government of India in 2013.

Purnima Mahato has won many laurels in archery and is presently the coach of Indian Archery Team. Deepika Kumari is another name to reckon with. She is the number 1 player in Women Re curve archery. Dola Banerjee and Bombayala Devi have been ace archers too. Reena Kumari represented India in 2004 Summer Olympics. Mangal Singh Champia won
bronze medal in the team competition in Asian Games in 2006. He was
honoured with Arjuna Award by President of India in 2009.
Hockey:
Subhadra Pradhan is member of Women's National Field Hockey team and hails from Jharkhand state. Michael Kindo was in the team which won World Cup for India in 1975. Jaipal Singh Munda was the captain of the team which won gold in the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam.
